Nagpur will soon become a metro city! Details are very limited now, but as per various reports, like this, Nagarjuna Constructions has been handed over the contract to construct the initial 4.5 km route in the MIHAN (Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur) area as part of the 19.66 km north-south line.

The contract to Nagarjuna includes one big and two small bridges, a station at the airport and a depot at Khapri. The line here will run at-grade (ground-level). As per this, a tender to appoint a General Consultant will be floated in the coming days. The general consultant will supervise the construction of the entire project including civil work, installation of electrical system, solar equipment and trial run etc.
