CMRS to Inspect Delhi Metro’s Faridabad line from Aug 10-12

Good news! The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) will be carrying out inspection on the 13.9 km long Badarpur – Faridabad metro line from August 10 to August 12. Once the inspection takes place, the CMRS will then give its stamp of approval with recommendations to the DMRC following which they should be able to open the line for commercial operations towards the end of this month.

As a reminder, trial runs on this corridor began on April 12 this year. This extension of the Violet line will consist of 9 stations at Sarai, NHPC Chowk, Mewala Maharajpur, Sector 27-A, Badhkal Mor, Old Faridabad, Ajronda, Faridabad New Town and YMCA Chowk. Once fully operational, the 43.4 km-long Violet line will run from Kashmere Gate to Escorts Mujesar. It will have a total of 32 stations including five interchange stations — Kashmere Gate (with Red & Yellow lines), Mandi House (with Blue line), Central Secretariat (with Yellow line), Lajpat Nagar (with Pink line) and Kalkaji Mandir (with Magenta line).
