Delhi Metro’s Extension to Faridabad Inaugurated by PM Modi

The Delhi Metro Violet line’s 13.875 km extension to Faridabad just got inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi at the Bata Chowk station a couple minutes ago! Commercial services on this section will begin at 4 pm after which the Violet line will become 35.175 km long and run services all the way from ITO in central Delhi to Escorts Mujesar in Faridabad. Also, the Delhi Metro’s network will finally breach the 200 km milestone and consist of lines totaling 207.8 km!

4 PM Update: Commercial operations have begun!

The 3.2 km extension from Escorts Mujesar to Ballabhgarh is currently under construction will start functioning in 2017.
