Systra Led Consortium Appointed Ahmedabad Metro’s General Engineering Consultant

The Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar & Ahmedabad (MEGA) Co. Ltd recently announced that for Phase 1 of the project, it has appointed a General Engineering Consultant comprising of different companies. These companies include France’s Systra S.A., India’s RITES, Japan’s Oriental Consultants Global and AECOM Asia from Hong Kong. The Letter of Acceptance (LoA) was issued on Friday, September 4.

The objective of this contract is to obtain General Engineering Consultancy Services for design review and commissioning of the Phase-I of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project in relation to all civil structures, alignment, tracks, signals, telecom facilities, traction arrangement, power supply, rolling stocks, stations, depots, offices, bridges, flyovers, fire alarm, fire detection, public health & environment.

Apart from this, the GEC will monitor all contract works in progress, identify any delay from schedule including coordination conflicts and recommend measures to eliminate or mitigate problems and implement the measures with the approval of MEGA Co. Ltd. The appointment of GEC will accelerate construction and commissioning of the project in phased manner and also enable MEGA to rope in experts from domestic as well as global metro rail industry which will help to place the Metro Rail Project on fast-track.
