[Pics] Station Signage & Passenger Facilities at Hyderabad’s Metro Stations

As L&T and its various subcontractors race to complete the first stage of Hyderabad’s Metro, an 11 km section of Line 3 from Nagole to Secunderabad, new images have appeared on HMR’s website that shows the progress they’ve made within the stations. Station detailing, appropriate signage and a kiosk to load funds onto smart cards have been installed. While I truly appreciate HMR’s dedication to regularly update their website, I do find the watermark to be annoying as it takes away the joy in viewing the images in their pure form.

Anyhow, enjoy these images! let’s start with the concourse level first:

Did you notice the multi-language signage? If not, then scroll up and see them again. For me this is a testament of a city that loves & embraces its multi-linguistic & multi-cultural identities which adds to the overall charm of the city!

Isn’t there some alternative in Urdu to “kasTamar keyar”?

Escalators are visible between concourse & platform levels, but only stair cases can be seen between street & concourse levels. Are escalators planned between street & concourse levels?
Also, with this arrangement of stair cases direct from side walks, where will security checks be carried out? At concourse level?

Hi, there’s one elevator (lift) present at each station to go between the street & concourse level. Security checks will take place at the concourse level prior to going to the stairs/elevator which lead to the platform level.

Thnx, so presume most passengers would be using stairs & elevator will be for wheel-chairs, old, mobility-impaired, etc.
