Chennai Metro’s Scheduled Trial Run in October between OTA & Little Mount Delayed

So remember how back in August, it was announced that trials on the OTA-Little Mount section of Chennai’s Blue line will commence in October? If you missed out on that, then see: Chennai Metro to start testing Little Mount – OTA line in October. Now it has emerged that the trials will be delayed as there are several procedural approvals still required to be completed before the first train can zoom through this section.

As one per one CMRL official :

We need to get some permissions before starting the trial run between the Little Mount and Officers’ Training Academy. We are not sure how long this will take. We thought it may be done by the first week of October, but now, there are indications that it will take longer than planned.

As a reminder, track work between the 4 stations on this section has been completed and electrification & signalling installation work is about to be wrapped up by the end of this month.
