CMRS to Inspect Delhi Metro’s Jahangirpuri – Samaypur Badli Metro Line on Oct 12 & 13

The Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) is all set to inspect the Delhi Metro’s 4.49 km Yellow line extension from Jahangirpuri to Samaypur Badli station on October 12 & 13. These dates have been confirmed after the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation had submitted their application to the CMRS on September 9.

This section includes 3 new stations at Haiderpur, Rohini Sector 18 and Samaypur Badli as shown in the map I’ve made below. The Haiderpur station was recently renamed from Badli Mor after the local AAP MLA requested it to be renamed. After I posted about the change here (see: Delhi Metro’s Upcoming Badli Mor Station is Now Officially Called Haiderpur Station), the Times of India carried the news in an article and mentioned my name:

Haiderpur, say locals, is simply a smaller village in the locality. A local blogger, “TheMetroRailGuy”, has even pointed out the disproportionate representation of neighbourhood localities with the station being renamed.

For those not aware of Delhi’s geography, this line is situated in the northern half of the city:

Once the inspection is completed, the CMRS will give its decision within a week along with any suggestions on how to operate the line under safe parameters. Looking at historic timeframes, I expect the line to start operations sometime between October 27 and November 10.
