New Images of Ahmedabad’s Metro Under Construction at Night

Here are some fantastic new images of Ahmedabad’s 20.737 km east-west metro line under construction on Vastral Road that were captured at night! These were shot by Rushabh Gandhi (see his Flickr page) on Tuesday and show the 6 km elevated stretch from Vastral Gam to Apparel Park which is being executed by J Kumar Infraprojects in the eastern part of the city. Since the previous update from earlier this month, rebar for a lot more piers has been tied up and many more piers now have a pier cap.

The following 3 images show the support structure of a launching gantry crane (see example) being erected! In February, the contractor will begin launching precast segments (see their images) one-by-one to start forming the line’s viaduct.
