[Pics] Progress of Kochi Metro’s CUSAT Station – May 2016

Here’s a post with some brand new images of Kochi Metro’s CUSAT metro station which is being built by Larsen & Toubro about half a kilometer away from the Cochin University of Science and Technology! The 1st metro train visited this station when trial runs were extended to Edapally in March-end.

Officials from DMRC and KMRL are aiming to open this station as part of the 8 km Muttom – Palarivattom stretch by November 1, but looking at the progress made so far, that just doesn’t seem feasible and there’s clearly a long way to go. Even the 3 member team from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) which visited Kochi in April to review the project’s progress expressed their doubts about meeting the deadline.

When ready, the station’s interiors will reflect the rich maritime history of Kochi & Kerala. The KMRL is yet to give us a glimpse of how it’ll turn out, so in the meanwhile, why don’t you check out Changampuzha Park & Aluva stations’ designs. 🙂
