Ayesa Wins DDC Contract for Vijayawada’s Metro Project

Ayesa, a Spanish technical services firm was recently awarded the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract for both lines & depots of the 26.03 km Vijayawada Metro project! Besides working with the Amarawati Metro Rail Corporation (owner) & Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (executing agency) to review the design of the viaducts & stations, their role includes and is not limited to producing and proposing alternate designs for all architectural, building services, electrical and mechanical works.

The DMRC had originally invited bids for this contract in January 2016 and with JICA’s approval (loan agreement to be signed soon) opened the bids. Similarly, financial bids for constructing 2 packages of the 13.27 km Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) to Nidamanuru elevated line are expected to be opened soon, if not already. The eight bidders which qualified through the technical evaluation include IL&FS Engineering, GD2-DBL JV, NCC, Soma Enterprises, Afcons Infrastructure, GYT-TPL JV, PLL-CRFG JV and Simplex Infrastructures.
