Ayesa Wins DDC Contract for Mumbai’s Andheri (E) – Dahisar (E) Line

After recently winning the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract for Vijayawada’s Metro, Ayesa – a Spanish technical services firm has now been awarded a similar contract for Mumbai’s 16.5 km Andheri (E) – Dahisar (E) Metro line!

The MMRDA had invited bids for this service in February 2016. Besides working with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (owner) & Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (interim consultant) to review the design of the viaducts & stations, Ayesa’s role includes and is not limited to producing and proposing alternate designs for all architectural, building services, electrical and mechanical works.

Ayesa has previously won contracts for Delhi, NoidaLucknow & Vijayawada’s metro projects. Visit their India page to know more.

This 16.5 km line with 16 stations is commonly referred to Line 7 or Metro 7, and construction contracts for it were awarded to J Kumar Infrastructure, NCC and Simplex Infrastructure in April. Since then J Kumar Infra has started utility shifting & soil testing works.

Piling works are expected to start once the monsoon rains subside in August-September. The line’s viaduct will consist of sleek U-girders which have previously been used to build Mumbai’s Line 1 between Versova & Ghatkopar and more recently in KochiNoida, Lucknow and sections of Delhi’s Metro.
