MahaMetro Invites Bids for 9 Stations on Pune Metro’s Reach-1

Days after awarding NCC Ltd. with a contract to construct the 10.795 km viaduct of Reach-1 in Pune, the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro) has now invited bids for the construction of 9 elevated stations along the way. Reach-1 on the 16.589 km north-south line will connect Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Range Hills, and is expected be the first stretch of the 31.254 km Phase 1 project to get ready.

The 9 stations in this package will be built on the median of the Old Mumbai – Pune Highway, and will be located at PCMC, Tukaram Nagar, Bhosari (Nashik Phata), Kasarwadi, Phugewadi, Dapodi, Bopodi, Khadki and Range Hills:

MahaMetro has estimated the station package of this section to cost Rs 450 crores. The last date for submitting tender documents for bidding is June 13 2017 (4 pm) after which the bids will be opened & evaluated for eligibility at 4:30 pm. The financial bids are expected to be opened in Q3 2017 and once the contract is finalized, piling work for the stations can be expected to begin by the end of the year.

Overall, this is the 3rd civil package for which MahaMetro has invited bids. A concept design of a typical station, tweeted out by MahaMetro’s social media team, can be viewed here.

    the whole process is going on a snail pace. it will take 2-3 years to reach Swargate.
