Anji Khad Bridge – Information & Updates

473.25 m long Anji Khad Bridge is a soon-to-be-operational cable-stayed bridge in Jammu & Kashmir on the Indian Railways’ 356 km Jammu – Baramulla rail line.

Anji Khad Bridge was constructed by Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) at an estimated cost of Rs. 435 crore. Construction had started in March 2017 with a 36 month deadline, and work was completed in September 2023.

Design

This concrete & steel bridge with 3 spans at a height of 331m over Anji River forms a critical piece of the line’s Katra – Reasi section. It’s the first cable-stayed railway bridge in the country and consists of 96 cables made in Slovakia.
