Anji Khad Bridge – Information & Updates

473.25 m long Anji Khad Bridge is a soon-to-be-operational cable-stayed bridge in Jammu & Kashmir on the Indian Railways’ 356 km Jammu – Baramulla rail line.

Anji Khad Bridge’s civil construction work was completed in September 2023 by by Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) with an estimated cost of Rs 435 crore. Construction work had started in March 2017 with a 36 month deadline.

Design

This concrete & steel bridge with 3 spans at a height of 331m over Anji River forms a critical piece of the line’s Katra – Reasi section. It’s the first cable-stayed railway bridge in the country and consists of 96 cables made in Slovakia.
