Anji Khad Bridge – Information & Updates

473.25 m long Anji Khad Bridge is an under construction cable-stayed bridge in Jammu & Kashmir on the Indian Railways’ 356 km Jammu – Baramulla rail line.

The bridge is under construction by Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) with an estimated cost of Rs 435 crore. Construction work started in March 2017 with a 36 month deadline.

Anji Khad Bridge is expected to be completed in August 2023 (current deadline).

Design

This concrete & steel bridge with 3 spans 331m over Anji River forms a critical piece of the Katra-Reasi section. It will be the first cable-stayed railway bridge in the country and consist of 96 cables made in Slovakia.
