Nagpur – Gondia Expressway – Information & Status
127 km Nagpur – Bhandara – Gondia Expressway by MSRDC is an approved 4 lane access-controlled highway with a route alignment in eastern Maharashtra. It is also known as the Eastern Maharashtra Expressway.
This greenfield expressway’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) has not been published online. Land acquisition started in 2023.
Nagpur – Gondia Expressway will start at Gavasi village on Nagpur’s Outer Ring Road, near the under construction 701 km Samruddhi Mahamarg (Mumbai – Nagpur Expressway).
On the east-side, Nagpur – Gondia Expressway will terminate at village Sawari, located north of Gondia, while a 13.745 km bypass will be constructed around the south-western side of Gondia. Besides Gondia Bypass, a 3.826 km spur will link to the town of Tiroda which hosts MIDC’s Growth Centre.
The expressway is expected to reduce travel time between Nagpur and Gondia to about 2 hours from the current 4-5 hour journey.

Current Status
In February 2022, MSRDC invited bids for the appointment of a consultant for the preparation of a Feasibility Study Report, Detailed Project Report DPR and Pre Tender Activities (Package I).
In April 2024, MSRDC invited tenders for construction via 4 civil packages, each with a 2.5 year construction deadline. Technical bids were opened in May 2024 to reveal 8 bidders – see details.
