Delhi – Meerut RRTS – Information, Route Map, Fares, Tenders & Updates
Delhi – Meerut RRTS is an 82.15 km long under-construction semi-high speed rail line connecting Delhi – Ghaziabad – Meerut through a series of tunnels and elevated viaducts as part of the Regional Rapid Transit System.
The line is one of the three early bird (Phase 1) lines to be developed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) where trains will run upto a maximum speed of 160 km/hr to cover the entire distance in 1 hour.
Within Meerut city, NCRTC will run Meerut Metro services on the RRTS’ infrastructure. This will be done by taking some value engineering initiatives and by building specific metro-only stations.
The line’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) for construction was approved by the Uttar Pradesh State government in May 2017 and received the Government of India’s approval in February 2019. India’s Prime Minister laid its foundation stone in March 2019.

Delhi – Meerut RRTS Fares (Ticket Prices)
Delhi – Meerut RRTS line’s fare structure, prices and rules have not been announced yet. That will be done closer to start of operations. NCRTC plans to use the latest technologies for its automatic fare collection (AFC) system to allow QR codes and Near Field Communication (NFC) phones to utilize the system. Trains will consist of 1 or more business class coaches which will have their own separate fare structure & rules, with lounge access at the platform-level of certain stations.
