Information

Uttarakhand (Devbhoomi) Metro project with 2 lines is a Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) proposed to connect Haridwar – Rishikesh – Dehradun in the state of Uttarakhand.

The project will be executed by the Uttarakhand Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UkMRC), a special purpose vehicle and venture of the Government of Uttarakhand. In December 2016, the Uttarakhand state government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to prepare its detailed project report.

Uttarakhand Metro’s Phase 1 project is envisioned to connect Haridwar and Rishikesh. In Phase 2, the a new line will connect Nepali Farm on Line-1 to ISBT in Dehradun. As per the initial technical specifications, the line will have standard gauge tracks, and trains will be powered by a 750V DC Third Rail traction system. A large part of the line will likely be at-grade (ground level).
