Gorakhpur Light Metro with 2 lines & 27 stations is a light rail transit (LRT) system proposed to be built in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.
In 2017, the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRCL) was assigned as the ‘coordinator’ by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to bring all stakeholders together and get Gorakhpur Metro’s Phase 1 project started. Later in the year, RITES was assigned to prepare its feasibility report and Detailed Project Report, which was submitted to UPMRCL in March 2019.
