Karwar Airport – Status, Master Plan & Design
Karwar Airport is a proposed civil terminal at Algeri village near Ankola, Karnataka. The civil enclave facility will be operated by Airports Authority of India at the Indian Navy’s Karwar Air Base (Project Seabird).
The airport is being designed to handle B-737 sized aircrafts and is expected to open no sooner than 2027.

Current Status & Tenders
In August 2021, the state government approved land acquisition of 87.14 acres and 15 guntas in Algeri, Belekeri and Bhavikeri villages.
Location & Access
The project’s site (view on Google Maps) is located south of Karwar and will be accessible via NH-66.
