Bareilly-Gorakhpur Expressway – Information & Status
500 km Bareilly – Gorakhpur Expressway by NHAI is a proposed 4 lane access-controlled highway with a route alignment in Uttar Pradesh.
This greenfield expressway under Bharatmala Pariyojna (BMP) Phase 2 will run parallel to the Nepal Border. It’s part of the larger 900 km Shamli – Gorakhpur Expressway project. Land acquisition for its construction has not yet started.
The expressway is expected to be completed and opened in 2028. Its Detailed Project Report (DPR) has not been made available online by NHAI.

The expressway will be connected to the Ludhiana – Bareilly Economic Corridor in the east and Gorakpur – Siliguri Expressway in the west.
Current Status
Land acquisition process for the expressway’s construction has not yet started. The project’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being finalized.
