Chennai Port – Maduravoyal Expressway – Information & Status
19.881 km Chennai Port – Maduravoyal Elevated Expressway by NHAI is an approved 4 lane access-controlled highway in Chennai, Tamil Nadu with a route alignment along Cooum River and NH-4.
This 4 lane double-decker (double-tiered) expressway is estimated to cost Rs. 5,855 crore. Its foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in May 2022.
The project’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) is unavailable. NHAI invited tenders for its construction in July 2022 through 4 packages. The expressway will have 7 on-ramps for entry and 6 off-ramps to exit, and has a design capacity to handle 40,000 passenger cars a day.
