Bareilly-Ludhiana Economic Corridor – Information & Status
450 km Bareilly – Ludhiana Economic Corridor, also known as Bareilly-Ludhiana Expressway, is a 6 lane partially access-controlled highway approved by NHAI with a route alignment in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab.
This mix of brownfield-upgrade & greenfield project is being developed under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-2 program with a March 2026 deadline. The 121.78 km Shamli – Ambala Expressway project forms a part of it, and in the future it will be extended from Bareilly to Gorakhpur in eastern UP.
On the eastern-end, the project will be connected to the 500 km Bareilly – Gorakhpur Expressway to form one continuous highway.

Bareilly – Ludhiana Economic Corridor broadly comprises of 3 road projects:
- 220 km Bareilly to Shamli (greenfield)
- 121.78 km Shamli (Gogwan Jalalpur) to Ambala (Sadopur) section (greenfield)
- 90 km section of NH-44 from Ambala to Ludhiana (brownfield upgrade)
