Mysore-Madikeri Economic Corridor – Information & Status Update
115 km Mysuru – Madikeri Economic Corridor, also known as Mysore – Madikeri Expressway, is an under construction 4 lane semi access-controlled road project by NHAI with a route alignment in Karnataka.
Construction on this mostly greenfield corridor to connect Coorg will be carried out under the Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase I program with a goal to reduce travel time and improve the efficiency of freight movement for boosting exports.
The project’s feasibility report was prepared by Feedback Infra and land acquisition process started in 2020.
This economic corridor includes the 92.3 km Mysore – Kushalnagara Expressway project. Its greenfield alignment will run parallel to the existing national highway NH-275 and connect Guddehosur to Srirangapatna to link up with the 119 km Bangalore – Mysore Expressway project.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the project’s foundation stone in March 2023. In Phase 2, the project is planned to be extended from Madikeri to Bantwal, just east of Mangalore.
NHAI has not yet made its Detailed Project Report (DPR) available online. This project is planned to be completed by 2026 and aims to reduce the travel time between Mysore and Madikeri from the present 2-3 hours to just over an 1 hour.

Current Status
Construction on Mysore – Madikeri Economic Corridor has been underway since January 2024. The project’s foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2023.

Mysore – Madikeri Economic Corridor comprises of two sections:
- 22 km brownfield-upgraded section of NH-275 from Madikeri to Guddehosur – partially access-controlled
- 92.3 km greenfield Mysore – Kushalnagar Expressway (Guddehosur to Srirangapatna) – fully access-controlled
