Images from Inside the Noida – Greater Noida Metro Project’s Precast Yard

In the fifth board meeting of the Noida Metro Rail Corp, it was announced that 15% of the project has been completed! In celebration of that announcement, here are some cool images from inside the 30.016 km Noida-Gr.Noida metro line’s casting yard which lies close to the depot in Greater Noida’s Junpat village.

This casting yard has been setup to exclusively supply precast pier caps & 27m long U-shaped girders for the NC03 section in Greater Noida. Another yard has been setup in Noida’s Sector 149 to supply the same precast units for the NC01 and NC02 sections which lie in Noida and along the Noida-Gr.Noida Expressway respectively.

3 pier caps from this yard were recently transported on-site and have been placed on top of piers. Images of the first pier getting its crown (the pier cap, of course!) can be seen here. Over the next few weeks, more pier caps will be placed following which the 27m long U-shaped girders will be brought out of the yard to start building the metro line’s viaduct!
