First U-Girder Launched for Delhi Metro Red Line’s 9.4 km Ghaziabad Extension
On the night of December 27, the GYT-
The 28m long pier was cast at a precast yard in Ghaziabad’s Sahibabad Industrial Area from where it was brought out and placed between Piers P1- 18 and 19 to the east of the upcoming Shahid Nagar station in an operation that lasted about two hours.

The Red line between Dilshad Garden – Kashmere Gate – Rithala is currently 25.09 km long. After the Ghaziabad extension is completed by the end of 2017 and becomes operational in 2018, the line will become 34.50 km long!
