[Pics] Finishing Works at Delhi Metro’s Delhi Cantt. Station
With civil construction completed on the Delhi Cantonment to Moti Bagh section of Delhi Metro’s new 58.596 km Pink line, the station interior finishing works have started! This work has been contracted out to Glorious Design, a local interior designing company who’ve been mandated to complete/finish all stations on CC-17 and CC-28 and bring them to an operational state. Stations included in their contract include:
CC-17: Moti Bagh, Dhaula Kuan & Delhi Cantt.
CC-28: Mayapuri, Rajouri Garden, E.S.I. Hospital, Punjabi Bagh West & Shakurpur
To see their locations, please see this Delhi Metro map.

Finishing works can be quite messy with different equipment and material all over the place, so quite understandably there’s a lot dust, debris and other assorted residue within the station premises. In another 6 months, this station will be ready to go!
However, even though this section of the line is quite ahead of other sections (note the tracks & overhead electrification equipment) of the line, it will have to wait until the end of the year for any sort of trials to commence since tunneling work at the mouth of the depot, between Azadpur and Majlis Park, is yet to be completed – please see my January 2016 tunneling update for more details.
