NKC, CDS & Evrascon Win Delhi-Amritsar Expressway’s Work
NKC Projects, Centrodorstroy India and Evrascon – MKCIL JV today emerged as the lowest bidders for constructing packages 4, 5 and 9 of the roughly 650 km Delhi – Amritsar – Katra (DAK) Expressway after National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) opened financial bids.
This 4-lane greenfield project starts at KMP Expressway north-west of Delhi, and will be expandable to 8 lanes with provision of service roads in the future. Phase 1 involves the construction of a 397.7 km greenfield expressway between Delhi – Ludhiana – Gurdaspur and a 99 km spur connecting Nakodar – Amritsar.
NHAI invited bids for these 3 packages in October and November 2020 with a 2 year deadline. Package 4 lies within Haryana, Package 5 is mostly within Haryana, while Package 9 is entirely in Punjab.

Brief Scope: Construction of four-lane Greenfield Delhi Amritsar Katra Expressway from Junction with Jind Karnal road NH709A near Alewa to Junction with Ambala Kaithal Hissar road NH152 near Kharak Pandwa village Km 91.400 to 120.250 on HAM under BP in Haryana

- Technical Bids Opened: February 12, 2021
- Bidders: 15 (all 15 technically qualified)
- NHAI’s estimate: Rs. 1404.13 crore

DAK Expressway project’s greenfield section consists of 15 packages – 12 on the 397 km Delhi – Gurdaspur section and 3 on the 99 km Nakodar-Amritsar spur.

One project that deserves to be profiled on this eloquently created website is Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway. It’s a mega infra project which is silently albeit slowly chugging ahead, surprisingly though, somehow our infra-enthusiasts aren’t much into reporting it. So, what say? This project definitely makes the cut as it’ll have a huge impact in exploiting our northwestern sun-kissed land locked frontiers and bring a multi-dimensional change to the industrial scene in those secluded spaces. Also, it is pertinent to mention here that this project is lengthier than the DME.
Thanks for the suggestion! That project is on my backlog of information pages to create. I first need to wrap my head around its civil packages. Due to other commitments, I haven’t had the time to explore.

Very few have idea on elaborate hard work required pre bidding and executing such projects. Great work is being done under leadership of Road Transport Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari. Till date no minister in this portfolio was so much progressive. Hats off to him and his team.
