Ganga Expressway’s RFQ & RFP Tenders Invited
Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has in the past fortnight invited RFQ and RFP applications to develop the 594 km Ganga Expressway between Meerut and Prayagraj on the public-private partnership (PPP) mode under Design, Built, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis.
This six lane access-controlled expressway will have a 120m ROW (right of way) and is designed to be expandable to 8 lanes in the future. More design details can be viewed here.
On the Meerut-end, the expressway will be connected to the Delhi – Meerut Expressway’s upcoming Phase 5. That phase envisions the construction of a 14.60 km Zainuddinpur to Jahidpur connector and bidding for it is currently underway.
Ganga Expressway’s Phase 1 has been divided up into 4 sections for development with each section comprising of 3 civil packages. In Phase 2, the expressway will be extended by 110 km to Tigri on the Uttar Pradesh / Uttrakhand Border and by 314 km to Ballia near Varanasi. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has not been finalized.

Package-2 is shortest in length; only 30kms…rest of the packages are in the range of 50kms..
But package-2 involves building a bridge over the river Ganga. Hope they design a grand picturesque bridge..
The 110km phase 2 extension of the expressway to Tigri on the Uttar Pradesh / Uttrakhand Border – What’s the Expressway alignment viz-a-viz river Ganga? Eastern Flank or Western?…any info on it yet?
