32 Bidders for Delhi’s UER 2 Project’s Construction

32 firms have submitted a total of 78 bids to construct 5 civil packages of the 74.98 km Delhi Urban Extension Road (UER) II project after National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) opened technical bids on June 4.

This greenfield access-controlled road in Phase 1 will form a 38.111 km semi-ring (NH-344M) around Delhi’s western edge and also consist of two spurs (NH-344P) to Bahadurgarh Bypass and to Barwasni Bypass in Sonipat. Its Detailed Project Report (DPR) was prepared by URS Scott Wilson India – AECOM India JV – see detailed project information here.

NHAI invited bids for its 5 packages back in December 2019 – each with a 2 year construction deadline. The first 3 packages are related to the main UER-2 expressway, Package 4 to Sonipat Spur and Package 5 to Bahadurgarh Spur.

Scope: Construction of 6 lane NH-344M-Package 1 (From NH 1 Km-0.700 to Karala-Kanjhawala Road Km 15.000) in State of Delhi on EPC mode

Scope: Construction of 4 lane NH-344P Pkg 4 from Km 0.000 to 29.600 29.6 km starting from Bawana Industrial Area Delhi at Km 7.750 of NH-344M till Sonipat bypass of NH-352A at Village Barwasani Sonipat in Haryana as spur of NH-344M on EPC mode

Package 5 – Bahadurgarh Spur

Scope: Construction of 6 lane NH-344N Pkg 5 from Km 0.000 to 7.269 7.3km starting from NH 344 M Delhi at Km 26.135 of NH-344M or UER-II till Bahadurgarh bypass of NH-10 near Bahadurgarh in Haryana as spur of NH-344M on EPC mode

• Length: 7.269 km
• Bids Submitted: 18

The bids have now been sent for technical bid evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor for each package.
