DMRC Submits Application to CMRS to Inspect Jahangirpuri – Samaypur Badli Metro Line
According to a new update on the Delhi Metro’s website, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on September 9 submitted its application with all necessary paperwork to the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) to inspect the Delhi Metro’s 4.49 km Yellow line extension from Jahangirpuri to Samaypur Badli station.
The CMRS will now go through the application and soon indicate available dates to inspect the line. Once the inspection is completed, the CMRS will give its decision along with any suggestions on how to operate the line under safe parameters.
This section includes 3 new stations at Badli Mor, Rohini Sector 18 and Samaypur Badli as shown in the map I’ve made below. Note: As per a report in the DNA late last month, the Badli Mor station has been renamed to Haiderpur.
For those not aware of Delhi’s geography, this line is situated in the northern half of the city:
As a reminder, trial runs on this section were kicked off on July 3 from the Jahangirpuri metro station by the MD, Mangu Singh:
More images of the trial run can be viewed here: DMRC starts trial runs on Jahangirpuri-Samaypur Badli section.
In all likelihood, the line will be inspected in early October and we’ll be looking at a late-October start date. Whenever the dates are announced, I’ll be sure to make a post, so do keep a tab on the Delhi section of the Metro Rail Guy!
