Ahmedabad Metro’s Phase 3 project is currently on the drawing board. Phase 3’s detailed project report (DPR) has not yet been prepared.
By the time construction on Ahmedabad Metro’s Phase 2 project nears completion in 2025, there’s a great possibility of new lines getting proposed for development within Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar with lines to the Airport and along Sardar Patel (SP) Ring Road.

- GMRC’s Phase 3 Deadline: Not Finalized (Pending Route Finalization & Approval)
- My Completion Estimate: 2031 (if approved by state government in 2026)
Phase 3’s Likely Routes
New Line-3: Motera – Airport
- Length: 6.5 km
- Estimated Cost: Rs. 2000 crore
Extension of Line-2 within GIFT City
- Length: 7 km
- Estimated Cost: Rs. 2300 crore
