Phase 2 Information
28.254 km Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 project with 2 corridors was approved by India’s Central Government’s Cabinet on February 19, 2019 at a total estimated cost of Rs. 5384.17 crores. Its foundation stone was laid by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 4, 2019.
Phase 2 envisions a north extension of Line-2 from Motera Station to Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. A notice inviting bids for its civil construction was published in January 2020, technical bids were opened in June 2020, and construction work started in February 2021.

In addition, a roughly 5 km line connecting Koteshwar Road – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (spur of Red Line) is proposed to be included in Phase 2 plans.
