Landscaping at Uppal Offers Glimpse into Hyderabad’s Future

Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) has done a brilliant job below the Uppal Station on the Red line of the system. Not only have they completely redone the sidewalk, but also performed landscaping and added some street furniture to complement it. This fits into the HMR’s vision of redesigning the streetscape wherever the Metro goes (See: Hyderabad Metro – an Urban Redesign Opportunity). Step back and enjoy these new images:

While I absolutely love what I see, I do think those two trees should have been planted in a single line so that pedestrian movement is not obstructed. Nonetheless, I’m impressed that HMR’s vision of redesigning the streetscape (See: Hyderabad Metro – an Urban Redesign Opportunity) has come to life. Hopefully they’ll be able to take this as a template and replicate it across the city successfully.
