3 Month Checkpoint – Feedback Requested

Hey there! It’s been 3 months since I launched The Metro Rail Guy to chronicle the progress of India’s metro systems. During this time a lot of progress in terms of construction or approvals has been made by each system which I’ve tried to present in a clear & easy to understand format.

Having turned 3 months old, I would now like to hear from you about the website. Doesn’t matter if you’re a regular reader or someone who just stumbled upon it. What do you like about it? What do you dislike? What can be improved? What can be changed? I would really like to get some feedback so that I can make improvements along the way. Even if you just want to say Hi! please drop me a comment.

If you want to make your comment public, then please use the comment box below. Otherwise, you can drop me a direct message using the website’s contact form or connect with me on Twitter or Facebook.

Looking forward to hearing back!

Thanks,
The Metro Rail Guy

    Hello,

I would like to say that this is a very impressive sector-specific website. It caters to a potentially big audience ranging from people who are personally passionate about metro systems or professionally working in the rail/metro/infra sector. Keep up the good work!

    Thanks,
    Prithviraj

    Hi, TMRG!

You’re doing a great job. Keep it going please.

Desiderata? Maybe a set of individual pages mapping “underway” as well as “proposed” lines or each city. Also charts detailing receipts and expenses and amortizations for each city’s system.

    All the best, पीटर हुक

Hi Peter, thanks for your warm message and suggestions! I do plan to build some info pages for each system which will go live within the next 2 months.

    Hi,

Excellent job. Lucid and progressive compilation along with important details helped me a lot to gain what is happening as I am not in India.

Must say way better than going through conflicting news post on different websites. Good job keep it up. One thing if you can annotate the pages with link to official documents/pages where possible, this will be of great help.

    Thanks,
    Nikhil

Hi Nikhil, thanks for your message, I’m glad you like the site! There aren’t many official pages/documents to link to that provide accurate or detailed information, so it’s a little tricky, but I have linked some tender documents (eg. from Chennai, Vijayawada metros) recently and will continue doing so. Thanks again for the support!

    Dude I love you.
I am a sucker for public transport, and I have a cult-like interest in these metro projects around the country. I have no idea how you manage to have all this information, considering how secretive (and in Namma Metro’s case, deceptive and lying bitch) these corporations are. I’m your biggest fan. 🙂

    P. S., I laughed about the bit where you complained how the press notes from Metro Rail corporations misspelled trials as trails. I know it was kind of silly, but good to see some people these days who have not completely forgotten about spellings and good grammar.

    Sincerely

Also, should we include Mumbai Monorail in all this? Let’s not leave poor sucker behind :-/

I’m trying to concentrate on metro systems, but will post about the Monorail through my twitter handle whenever there’s something new to post!

Fantastic work by the team here. Please keep it up and expand further.
Please also cover about the tier 2 cities where metro rail is needed but there is not word on planning for it, this way people are aware and more cities are brought into the metro fold.
