[Pic] Lucknow Metro’s Under Construction Depot at Transport Nagar

Thanks to my follower Kanha Srivastava (@k4nh4) on Twitter for sharing an image of Lucknow metro’s new depot!

Trains running on the Lucknow metro’s north-south line of which the 8.3 km priority section between Transport Nagar and the Charbagh Railway Station is currently under construction will be parked, maintained & repaired at a depot which is coming up at the PAC Grounds in Transport Nagar. Like the elevated section, this is being built by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) as well. Richa Industries.

According to Lucknow Metro’s Detailed Project Report, the depot will serve these functions:

(i) Major overhauls of all the trains of N-S corridor
(ii) All minor schedules and repairs of N-S corridor
(iii) Lifting for replacement of heavy equipment and testing thereafter of N-S corridor
(iv) Repair of heavy equipments of N-S corridor.
