[Pics] Ahmedabad Metro’s Construction – December 2015 Update

Here’s a post with some new images of Ahmedabad’s Metro line taking shape on Vastral Road in the Vastral and Nirant Cross Roads area! These were shot on December 6 (this past Sunday) and a lot of progress on the piers has been made since the November update. Rebar for a lot more piers has been tied up and casting formwork  has been removed from other completed piers.

This section is part of the initial 6 km elevated stretch from Vastral Gam to Apparel Park which is being executed by J Kumar Infraprojects in the eastern part of the city:

    i have question about this project when the project will be complete. The AHMEDABAD commuters will be sitting in the metro. any idea which month or year will be complete the entire project.
    second thing the north south when going to be starting the construction.

      At the slow pace at which they’re awarding contracts, the entire Phase 1 (37.77 km) would only be completed by 2021-22. Tendering for different sections of the north-south line is in progress and I expect work to start by the middle of 2016.
