MMRDA Invites Bids for Mumbai Metro’s Dahisar (E) – Andheri (E) Line
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has officially invited bids (see notice) from infrastructure/construction companies to design & construct the 16.5 km Dahisar (E) to Andheri (E) line! The entire elevated line with 16 stations has been divided up into 3 packages and the winning bidder will have to complete their respective sections within 30 months from the Letter of Acceptance (LoA).
Here are the details of the 3 packages which the successful bidder will have to design & construct:
• Package 1: Andheri (E) to New Ashok Nagar with 5 stations at Andheri (E), Shankarwadi, JVLR Junction, Mahanand and New Ashok Nagar.
• Package 2: New Ashok Nagar to Mahindra & Mahindra with 6 stations at Aarey, Dindoshi, Pathan Wadi, Pushpa Park, Bandongri and Mahindra & Mahindra.
• Package 3: Mahindra & Mahindra to Dahisar (E) with 5 stations at Megathane, Devipada, National Park, Ovaripada and Dahisar (E).
Here’s a map which shows all 3 packages:
The pre-bid meeting with interested infra companies will be held at 11 am on January 7 2016 and the last date for submission of the tender documents for bidding is 6 pm on February 1. Following that, the bids will be opened & evaluated. Pre-construction activities on this line can be expected to begin as soon as May 2016.
For the 18.6 km Dahisar – DN Nagar line, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is expected to invite tenders within the next 7 days with a similar bidding schedule and construction timeframe so that both these lines become operational by 2019. As a reminder, the foundation stone for both these lines was laid by PM Modi at an event organized on October 11.

Hi, any developments on the Dahisar east to Andheri east metro line.. Have they finalised the exact location or spot for stations
Exact locations of the 16 stations have been finalized but not released to the public. As per recent reports, they are contemplating of dropping a couple of stations which are too close to each other. I’ll post an update when things become clearer.
Yes a few locations on the east seem too near. Must consider station at Lokhandwala .The public from this area travel by bus upto samtanagar police station. to proceed towards borivli and andheri.
A metro line is needed from EAST TO WEST . This would reduce motor vehicle traffic.
Thanks for your response, would be looking forward for further updates from you..
