Construction Begins For Navi Mumbai Metro’s Section Over MBT Road

In Navi Mumbai’s Taloja neighborhood, a steel support structure has come up over the MBT Road (old highway numbering NH-4) to support the steel girders that will be placed for the Navi Mumbai Metro’s 11.1 km line! The contractor for this section, J Kumar Infraprojects, will begin erecting the 48m long girders in February.

Once the line crosses the MBT Road, it will again hop over the Central Railways’ tracks & the Dedicated Freight Corridor’s upcoming line via a 100 meter long steel bridge. The revised design for that hasn’t yet been approved by CR authorities and has further delayed the completion of the line. The way things are going, this metro line will only become operational in or after 2018.
