MEGA Invites Bids for Ahmedabad Metro’s Shreyas – Ranip Section
The Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar & Ahmedabad (MEGA) has finally invited bids for package #2 – the longest section of Ahmedabad’s Metro project so far! This 8.94 km Shreyas – Ranip section of the entirely elevated 17.23 km north-south line was the missing link between the 4.62 km Gyaspur – Shreyas section being built by IL&FS Engineering and the 4.85 km Motera – Ranip section being built by Ranjit Buildcon.

As stated above, this section will consist of 6 stations at Paldi, Gandhigram, Old High Court (Interchange with E-W Corridor), Usmanpura, Vijaynagar and Vadaj. Interestingly, the contractor will also be tasked with constructing a vehicular underpass at Paldi Station.
The last date for submission of tender documents for bidding is 3 pm on April 11 after which the bids will be opened & evaluated at 3:30 pm. After the contract is finalized, piling work for this section of the line can be expected to begin as soon as July 2016.
With this notice out, all packages of the 17.23 km north-south line are now in various stages of execution:
