Pile Cap Work Begins for Elevated Section of Nagpur’s Metro

Workers from NCC Ltd. in Nagpur have started building reinforced cages of pile caps along the 7.61 km elevated Reach 1 section of the 19.66 km north-south line! This is the next step of construction after the pile foundation work began in January using piling rigs and will continue until the foundations for all 500 or so piers are ready.

Here’s a post with a couple new snaps of Nagpur Metro’s MD inspecting different sections of the line on Wardha Road.

On April 1, the Ministry of Finance signed a Rs 3772 crore loan agreement with Germany’s KfW bank! For more details, see: FinMin – KfW Sign Rs. 3772 cr Loan Agreement for Nagpur Metro. In the coming days, the Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation will sign a project level deal with KfW in either Mumbai or Nagpur. Following that, I expect contracts for the General Consultant and construction of Reach 3 (Lokmanya Tilak Nagar to Rani Jhansi Square) to be awarded.
