MahaMetro Invites Bids for Pune Metro’s PCMC – Range Hills Section

Late last month, MahaMetro kick-started the civil bidding process for constructing Pune Metro’s 31.254 km Phase 1 project by inviting bids from construction companies for a 10.795 km elevated viaduct from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Range Hills. This package, officially referred to as P1C-01, is a part of the 16.589 km north-south line which will connect PCMC to Swargate. The rest of the line from Range Hills to Swargate will be built underground and is likely to consist of 2 civil packages.

Design and Construction of Elevated Viaduct of Length 9.250 Kms from CH:(-)540 to CH:2600, CH:3600 to CH:6694, CH:7124 to CH:7709, CH:7737 to CH:8604 & CH:8691 to Ch:10255 between Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and Range Hill

Construction of Elevated Viaduct on BOQ basis of Length 430m from CH:6694 to CH:7124 Near Harris Bridge, 1.000 Km from CH:2600 to CH:3600, 28m from CH:7709 to CH:7737 and 87m from CH:8604 to CH:8691 on the North-South Corridor of Pune Metro Rail Project

MahaMetro will soon invite separate bids for the construction of 9 stations on this section which will be located at PCMC, Tukaram Nagar, Bhosari (Nashik Phata), Kasarwadi, Phugewadi, Dapodi, Bopodi, Khadki and Range Hills:

MahaMetro has estimated the viaduct package of this section to cost Rs 460 crore. The last date for submitting tender documents for bidding is March 30 2017 (4 pm) after which the bids will be opened & evaluated for eligibility at 4:30 pm. The financial bids are expected to be opened in Q3 2017 and once the contract is finalized, piling work for this section of the line can be expected to begin in Q4 2017.

As per the Financial Express, 9 companies attended the pre-bid conference held on March 2. The list includes Larsen & Toubro, Afcons Infrastructure, IL&FS , Tata Projects, J Kumar Infraprojects, NCC, Soma Enterprises, JMC Projects and ITD Cementation.

    That will be Financial Express, not Financial Times in the last paragraph. Was quite shocked initially to think that Financial Times has started reporting upon metro projects of Indian tier-2 cities!

    It is not “Nashik Phatak”. It should be “Nashik Phata” which means junction from where road goes to Nashik.

      Thanks – I’ve corrected it to match the local name. I’m assuming its simply the Marathi equivalent of Phatak (?)
