Why two packages? What exactly is the difference between the two?

In India, they love to split works into several contracts just to claiming that this will help obtain more competitive bids. But the truth is that this creates more bureaucracy and maximizes the risk associated with lack of coordination between contractors.

^oh really ? but what if they award the entire work to one contractor and he screws up ? ever thought about that case ?
dividing the work among different contractors is good IMO

    Dear TMRG,

I understand the financial bids for TVS & ECS works have already been opened and Voltas, Blue Star Ltd and Sterling & Willson are Lowest in each lots of 3 lots. What is the status on that.

With Tunnel work already in full swing, the Mumbai Metro should soon freeze the orders , any further updates ???

    Regards,
