CCECC – KEC JV’s Yard Takes Shape for Delhi Metro Line-8 Extn
Three months after its ground breaking, workers from China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation – KEC International (CCECC – KEC) JV are rushing to complete a casting yard for a 12.375 km elevated extension of Line-8 (Magenta Line), under package DC-01, between the Vikaspuri Ramp and Haiderpur-Badli Mor Station.
Package DC-01 is the first section of the 61.679 km (and growing) Phase IV project on which work has started, and combined with other civil packages will form a 28.92 km extension of Line-8 from Janakpuri West towards RK Ashram.
The yard is located in Mundka in West Delhi and will in the future churn out U-girders, I-girders, pier caps and parapet wall segments for the viaduct through 10 elevated stations at Keshopur, Paschim Vihar, Peeragarhi, Mangolpuri, West Enclave, Pushpanjali, Deepali Chowk, Madhuban Chowk, Prashant Vihar & North Pitampura.
Elsewhere for Phase 4, readers have reported sightings of construction barricades in the Saket area for package DC-04, which was awarded to YFC Projects for the Aerocity – Tughlakabad line’s 4.28 km Sangam Vihar – Saket Sector G section. The scope of work for that includes a double-decker flyover, 2 underpasses and 4 elevated stations at Sangam Vihar, Khanpur, Ambedkar Nagar and Saket G.

I live near Deepali Chowk and keep seeing 1 to 2 metro workers standing with some equipment. I think it’s for surveying but could be wrong.
