8 Bidders for Chennai – Mysuru HSR’s Power Sourcing Survey
8 small firms today submitted bids for the first dedicated survey-work tender to help develop a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the upcoming 450 km Chennai – Bengaluru – Mysuru High Speed Rail project in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
India’s National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) had invited bids for this work in December, which involves surveying and identifying power souring options, with a 98 day completion period.

Scope: Survey, Identification of Overhead, Over Ground, Underground Utilities and Identification of Power Sourcing Options for substations Along the Proposed CHENNAI-BENGALURU-MYSURU (CBM) High Speed Rail Corridor
The 9 stations proposed on the Chennai – Mysuru line are planned to be built at Chennai, Poonamallee, Arakkonam, Chittor, Bangarapet, Bengaluru, Chennapatna, Mandya and Mysuru.
The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which can take up to a month to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor for this service.
As shared earlier, one of the train depots has been planned to come up at chainage 25.700, which would place it at or near Poonamallee.

Back in December, NHSRCL invited bids for two other survey & study related works – encompassing 2365 km of lines – which includes work for this line. Earlier in January, they invited bids for its LiDAR-based alignment design and Social Impact Assessment (SIA) Report preparation.

I am personally most interested in LIDAR survey list. It’s a long wait until February 1 🤪
Its good that some foreign companies have also participated in Bidding. Such as Sakura Geoinformation Ltd. Sakura is Japanese. Well personally I think that this HSR will not have land acquisition issues as I saw the map above the line mainly run through some green areas. Once operational, the land in and around the HSR will be more valuable.
TMRG, do you know when the 1st BEML trainsets for Mumbai Metro will roll out? When japanese experts and japanese components will come for rolling stock?

Don’t have concrete info on Mumbai’s trainset’s departure date. Tell me more about the missing Japanese components – haven’t heard or read about this constraint.
As per recent Interview with HT, MMRDA have stated that the trail runs have delayed as Metro Trains have not dispatch from BEML unit in Bangalore. The main reason is that some crucial components of the Rolling Stock such as Propulsion System and many more are stuck in Japan, also due to Border Closure by Japanese Govt. the Japanese experts cannot come to Bangalore and the worst thing is recently Japan have found a new Variant in Japan. With this problems, there’s a little hope about the March 2021 trials.

Well, the trial runs can start probably by April, if our local engineers will assemble these crucial components for trainsets through the Video Conferencing with Japanese experts, just like ITD cementation have did for tracks turnout.
Or they can use Delhi Metro’s UTO trainsets for a while, until 1st trainsets will come.

Are they really going to by pass the whole city of Bangalore? It will take the same amount of time to reach the airport and hsr station then. It will be useless for Bangalore. It won’t reduce the travel time at all.
This is not an actual alignment. You need to wait for a year to get clarification.
