GHV Wins Delhi – Mumbai Expressway’s Packages 27 & 28

GHV India on Friday emerged as the lowest bidder for constructing Packages 27 & 28 of the 1350 km Delhi – Mumbai Expressway’s 844 km Sohna – Vadodara section after National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) opened financial bids.

Both roughly 26 km sections of this 8-lane greenfield expressway are located within Gujarat’s Dohad and Panchmahal districts north-east of Vadodara. NHAI invited bids on February 21, 2020 with a 24 month completion deadline, and opened technical bids on December 4.

Package 27

Scope: Construction of 8 Lane access-controlled expressway starting after the end of Bridge over Hadaf River near Hathiyavan village to SH-152 near Matariya Vadi in Panchmahal (Ch.729.700-756.052) of Delhi-Vadodara GA on EPC Mode under BMP in Gujarat

  • Contract: NHAI/BM/ Delhi-Vadodara/2018/Pkg27
  • Length: 26.352 km
  • Bidders: 32 (30 technically qualified)
  • NHAI’s estimate: Rs. 874.04 crore

  • Contract: NHAI/BM/ Delhi-Vadodara/2018/Pkg28
  • Length: 25.23 km
  • Bidders: 31 (28 technically qualified)
  • NHAI’s Estimate: Rs. 803.29 crore

Prior to this, GHV had won Package 20 between Km 546.890 to Km 572.190 in Madhya Pradesh.

The entire route has been divided up into 4 sections with a total of 52 civil tenders / packages:

  • DND – Faridabad – Sohna: 3 (60 km)
  • Sohna – Vadodara: 31 (844 km)
  • Vadodara – Virar: 13 (354 km)
  • Virar – JNPT: 5 (92 km)

Out of 52 contracts, financial bids of 46 have been opened to assign contractors, most of which have either started or are deep into construction. Bidding is underway for 4 packages (#26 of Sohna – Vadodara, and #14 to #16 of Virar – JNPT) while tender notices are pending for 2 packages (#17 & #18 of Virar – JNPT).
