150m Girder for Delhi – Meerut RRTS Placed over Delhi Metro & Flyover
A fortnight ago, HMM Infrastructure and KEC – CCECC JV launched the first 150m long steel girder over Delhi Metro’s Red Line and a flyover for the 82.15 km Delhi–Meerut RRTS line project.
A total of 6 girders, weighing approximately 3,200 tonnes in total, will be launched one after the other in the coming weeks to bridge this critical and longest span of the line’s 18 km Priority Corridor connecting Sahibabad – Duhai.
The girders are being placed perpendicular to GT Road over a 3-lane one-way flyover and the Red Line’s viaduct. This is just west of the New Bus Adda Station which became operational in March 2019 – view satellite imagery.
KEC-CCECC JV was awarded Package 1’s Rs. 579.76 crore contract in August 2019 by NCRTC for constructing the 7.3 km Sahibabad Ramp – Ghaziabad section with 2 elevated stations at Sahibabad and Ghaziabad.
The second girder was launched this past week which RS_Live on YouTube has captured below in his latest update video. Check it out for some some great views of the Priority Corridor’s status:
