7 Bidders for Bhopal Metro’s Electrification Contract BH-08

7 firms have submitted bids for the 750 V DC 3rd Rail Electrification contract of Bhopal Metro’s Phase 1 project consisting of 2 lines and 28 stations.

The scope of this systems contract (Package BH08) includes design & installation work throughout all elevated & underground stations, including the Subhash Nagar Depot for which KEC – SAM JV emerged as the lowest bidder in February.

Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) invited tenders for this contract in November 2021 with a Rs. 516 crore estimate and 1278 day (3.5 year) deadline. Technical bids were opened on Thursday.

• Linxon India Ltd.
• Siemens Ltd.

These same 7 firms had earlier this month bid for Indore Metro’s electrification contract (IN-09) as well.

The bids have now been sent for technical bid evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.

The most exciting tender I’m tracking for Bhopal and Indore metros is for their combined 156 coach rolling stock contract. Bidding is currently underway with technical bids scheduled to open on March 31. Stay tuned!
