Jindal Wins Bhopal & Indore Metros’ Head Hardened Rail Contract
December 6, 2022 Update: MPMRCL has issued LOA to JSPL with a contract value of Rs. 138,64,71,000.00
November 19 2022 Original Post: Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (JSPL) in late October emerged as the lowest bidder to supply 18m long head hardened rails for Indore Metro and Bhopal Metro’s Phase 1 projects.
Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (MPMRCL) had invited tenders for this contract (Package BHIN03B) in February with a 1022 day (3 year) deadline and unknown estimate.
Technical bids were opened in July to reveal 2 bidders – JSPL and Mitsui & Co. Ltd. During evaluation, which concluded on October 15, Mitsui’s technical bid was found to not be compliant with the tender’s conditions.
JSPL’s Financial Bid: Rs. 138,64,71,000 (138.64 crore)
Brief Scope: Supply of Head Hardened Rails 18 m long UIC 60 60E1 profile IRST 12 2009 1080 Grade HH Class A 8120MT for Bhopal and 8425MT for Indore for Bhopal Metro Rail Project and Indore Metro Rail Project

Well if they want to start trial runs by September 2023 as they claim, then they do not have time for re-tendering.
Yup. Also, I doubt they’d receive a single Alstom train by then.
