DBL & Raj Path Win Bangalore-Vijayawada Expressway’s Contracts

The lowest bids in each case were either below (package 2) or negligibly higher (packages 1, 3 & 4) than NHAI’s estimate, so I expect NHAI to award contracts in the coming weeks without a long financial evaluation period.
The project’s 343 km greenfield section connecting Kodikonda, AP to Addanki, AP has been divided up into 14 civil packages. With this development, financial bids for 4 packages have been opened while bidding is underway for another 10 – see a list and their contractors/status here.

Its a pleasant news of the Bengaluru-Vijayawada Expressway, being announced and set in motion. The tenders for the same are usual rigmarole. The lowest bidder will win the project. But the general public must know the quality specifications of the construction. There cannot be any sort of compromises, owing to the least quoter winning the contract. These details must be put up in the public domain.
First quote lowest.. Win tender…. Execute work till half way….. Demolish existing road stretch to 500km at at time one way…. Causing traffic jams…. Unfinished work till raise in cost of project accepted…. If not drop the project and walk away with spindled money…. Ultimate sufferers or tax payers and road user for next 15 years…. Award contract for other bidder at escalated rate and finish the project with kickbacks……
No ….this is totally new road and there is lot of scope to start at a time.bidding maybe organised in a compromising way we are unable to stop this type of practices
