11 Bidders for Mysore – Kushalnagar Expressway’s Work in Karnataka
11 firms have submitted a total of 31 bids for the civil construction of 92.3 km Mysore – Kushalnagar Expressway project’s packages 2, 3, 4, & 5 in Karnataka.
This 4 lane access-controlled greenfield expressway is a part of the 115 km Mysore – Madikeri Economic Corridor and will be constructed under Bharatmala Pariyojana (BMP) program with an estimated cost of Rs. 3470 crore.
Its alignment will run parallel to the existing national highway NH-275 and connect Guddehosur to Srirangapatna to link up with the 119 km Bangalore – Mysore Expressway project.
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had invited tenders for the project’s construction under Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) in September 2022 with a 730 day (2 year) deadline. Technical bids were opened on Friday.

Package Scope and Chainage
- Package 2 (22.7 km): Km 122.200 near Guddehosur-Kushalnagara Bypass to Ch. Km 144.900 at SH-21 Hassan-Periyapatna Road Junction
- Package 3 (24.1 km): Km 144.900 Near Hemmige Village SH21 Hassan -Periyapatna Road Junc to Km169.000 at Near SH86 Ramanathapura-Terakanambi Road KR Nagar Junction
- Package 4 (26.5 km): Km 169.000 Ramanathapura Terakanambi Road KR Nagar Junction in Hunsur to Km 195.550 at Yalachahalli Near SH-117 Yelawala-KR Nagara Road Junction
- Package 5 (18.985 km): Km 195.550 at Yalachahalli Near SH-117 Yelawala KR Nagara Road Junction to Km 214.535 joining to Srirangapatna Bypass Near Paschima Vahini
The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor for each package.
The project’s feasibility report was prepared by Feedback Infra and Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans to lay its foundation stone next month. In Phase 2, the project is planned to be extended from Madikeri to Bantwal, just east of Mangalore.
