9 Bidders for Bangalore-Vijayawada Expressway’s Packages 7-10

9 firms have submitted a total of 22 bids for the civil construction contracts of 518 km Bengaluru – Vijayawada Expressway project’s packages 7, 8, 9 and 10 in Andhra Pradesh.

This 6 lane access-controlled expressway (NH-544G) will be built under Bharatmala Pariyojana (BMP) Phase 2 with a mix of brownfield-upgrade (36%) and greenfield (64%) routes. Its alignment will pass by Kadapa lending it the name of BKV Expressway.

India’s National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had invited tenders for their construction under Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) in January 2023 with a 730 day (2 year) deadline. Technical bids were opened today.

• MRKR Constructions and Industries Pvt. Ltd. – P9 only
• Rithwik Projects Private Ltd. – P9 only
• RR Constructions and Infrastructure India Pvt. Ltd. – P8 & P10

Package Scope and Chainage

• Package 7 (16 km): Audireddipalle (Ch160.000) to Mallapalle (Ch. 176.000)
• Package 8 (20 km): Mallapalle (Ch176.000) to Kavulakuntla (Ch196.000)
• Package 9 (7.5 km): Kavulakuntla (Ch196.000) to Narayanmpet (Ch203.500)
• Package 10 (24.5 km): Narayanmpet (Ch203.500) to Chandrasekharpuram (Ch228.000)

The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which will take about a month to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor for each package.

The project’s 343 km greenfield section connecting Kodikonda, AP to Addanki, AP has been divided up into 14 civil packages.

With this development, financial bids have been opened for 10 packages to reveal their most likely contractor , and technical bids have been opened for 4 packages – see a complete tender list and their contractors/status here.
